Subject: Examples of non-combative solutions?

Does anyone have additional examples of non-combative solutions to cultural or idealogical conflict between nations?

I am struggling to help my students identify moments in history similar to what the US is currently experiencing and focus on solutions that did not require war, conflict, or military interventions...

Can anyone help me brainstorm?

Bill

Would appreciate receiving lesson models for reviewing 4th - 8th curriculum to prepare 9th grade students for API exams. Am especially interested in CA history for high school students.

Thank You, David Powell

Does anyone have any interesting lesson plans that integrate VAPA and math while learning about the War of 1812? I have already thought about some role playing for some of the battles and the weapons used. I'm having difficulty thinking of something for Art (except for making some of the weapons by hand with cardboard) and Math.

Thanks for your time,

Melody Roesner

I am a consultant at the Monroe County Intermediate School District in Monroe Michigan. We have a battlefield which is the site of the largest loss of American soldiers in any battle during the war. We recently did a Virtual Field Trip and have loaded some lessons and primary source documents that are not in the history books. Our web site is http://misd.k12.mi.us. Click on the "Curriculum & Assessment" tab at the top. Click on "Social Studies" and you will see a link for the Virtual Field Trips with a place to download the lessons we put together. Hope this helps. Please let me know what you think at estep@misd.k12.mi.us
